  • Special thanks to the barista for the delightful late evening that we had. We were hugely impressed with your professionalism, attention to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed the coffee and cakes. Beautiful interior and the atmosphere was warm and very relaxing. Nice coffee and quality service. Elephant Factory Coffee should be one of the most memorable coffee shop visits and we’d definitely recommend Elephant to anyone looking for a cup of good coffee.

  • This was such an amazing find on an afternoon. The cafe is pretty small with an amazing atmosphere. Dimly lit, everything made of wood and the staff was super friendly. It’s such a nice place to chill and have a chat. I cannot talk about the coffee because I only tried the tea which was really good. The chocolate cake was also amazing! Will definitely come back.

  • Great atmosphere and ambience. A great place for a get together and chitchatting over nice coffee and nice cheese/chocolate cakes. One of the few coffee joints in the area that open to late. Cos the joint is located on level 2 of a quiet alley, it could easily be missed though.

  • Best coffee in Kyoto, assuming you like actual coffee. Not the place for people who prefer mixed coffee drinks. Just great dark full-flavored coffee. And they serve an incredible dark chocolate cake that complements the coffee perfectly. Finally, this place just smells wonderful and plays perfect background music.

  • A true hidden gem in Kyoto, away from the tourists. This place deserves a place in all coffee lovers' hearts.

  • In short, get the cheese cake!!! A small, cosy coffee place tucked in a quiet alley and a great rest stop shielded from the buzz and crowd in the Nishiki Market. They have quite a few blends and we tried the medium roast Tanzania and Cafe Au Lait. The former was not bad and the latter was exceptional. Had a slice of their homemade cheese cake as well and it was AMAZING. Bite size and 450yen per slice, but it was fantastic. Bear in mind that a cup of coffee cost 650-750yen and a cup of tea costs 900yen here.l, and patrons are expected to order minimally one drink per person. They do have an English menu but it's at the counter so you might need to request for it (the lady passed it to us as she shows us our seats). The service was great as well, although the male owner did look a little stern. Nonetheless absolutely no anti-foreigner sentiments here as claimed by other reviews, at least none that we have experienced.

  • Amazing small coffee place for lonesome reading or small chat with a friend. Great selection of filtered specialty coffee. Not many other things on the menu, be ready to drink coffee or tea here, not much else. Until the coffee gets cold.
